1  Scopep. 7

The present document provides use cases and analysis of UAV capabilities that may require enhanced 3GPP support.

2  Referencesp. 7

The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of the present document.
  • References are either specific (identified by date of publication, edition number, version number, etc.) or non specific.
  • For a specific reference, subsequent revisions do not apply.
  • For a non-specific reference, the latest version applies. In the case of a reference to a 3GPP document (including a GSM document), a non-specific reference implicitly refers to the latest version of that document in the same Release as the present document.

4  Overviewp. 8

The present document focuses on the 3GPP support for a wide range of applications and scenarios by using low altitude UAVs in various commercial and government sectors. The present document presents use cases based on continuation/enhancement of TS 22.125, and defines potential new service level requirements and KPIs for supporting various UAV applications by the 3GPP system. The present documentconsiders service requirements and KPIs related to command and control (C2), payload (e.g. camera) and the operation of radio access nodes on-board UAVs.
