This EF contains the data for one or more launch pads which shall be integrated with the menu system (or other MMI facility) in order to give the user the opportunity to launch a browser session with the SCWS. The launch pad comprises an alpha identifier and zero or more icon descriptors.

This EF contains the codes for one or more languages. This information, determined by the user/operator, defines the preferred languages of the user in order of priority. This information may be used by the ME for MMI purposes. This information may also be used for the screening of Cell Broadcast messages in a preferred language.

At USIM initialisation, the ME requests the Language Indication. The preferred language selection shall always use the EF LI in preference to the EF PL at the MF unless any of the following conditions applies:
  • if the EF LI has the value 'FFFF' in its highest priority position, then the preferred language selection shall be the language preference in the EF PL;
  • if the ME does not support any of the language codes indicated in EF LI, or if EF LI is not present, then the language selection shall be as defined in EF PL;
  • if neither the languages of EF LI nor EF PL are supported by the terminal, then the terminal shall use its own internal default selection.

This EF contains the last numbers dialled (LND) and/or the respective supplementary service control strings (SSC). In addition it contains identifiers of associated network/bearer capabilities and identifiers of extension records. It may also contain associated alpha-tagging.
